If this keeps up, we could get really spoiled…! Here comes another sensational theater production in English, this time the sexy musical blockbuster Chicago, with Monaco-style production values and all the razzle dazzle you could hope for, opening Thursday at Monaco’s Grimaldi Forum.
After roaring ’20’s nightclub singer wannabe Roxie Hart (Ali Bastion – Hollyoaks, The Bill) is thrown in jail for shooting her lover, she’s forced to compete with her cell block rival, double murderess Velma Kelly (Tupele Dorgu – Coronation Street) to keep from death row. Each tries to outsmart the other for the favors of prison matron, Mama Morton (Bernie Nolan) and smooth talking lawyer, Billy Flynn (Stefan Booth – Eastenders).
Created by legendary choreographer Bob Fosse, Chicago’s sexy, sassy score features one show stopping number after another including “All that Jazz” and “Razzle Dazzle”.
