Beaulieu Guitar Festival

Held in an ancient olive grove just off the seaside, the Les Nuits Guitares is the tiny village of Beaulieu-sur-mer’s entry in the jazz fest madness that overtakes the French Riviera every July.   For 3 nights from July 21-23, 2016, this summer fest strums its heart out for guitar-lovers.

The 2016 edition kicks off with Emir Kusturica and the No Smoking Orchestra, who, despite their name, totally smokes.  This would be my pick for the night to go.

The second night welcomes Christophe (France), and the final night features Thomas Dutronc (France).

Cost:  Tickets are 26€, 10€ for children under 15 and free for children under 10.  A 3-night pass is available for 60€. Order tickets here.

Getting there:  From Nice, I would recommend going early with the Bus #100, to enjoy and apero in town, a picnic on the beach, or do the beautiful little seaside walk to Sainte-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.  Or, go a little later and take the train.  For the return your options are limited, so walk up into town and take the train.

Main July Jazz Festivals on the Riviera: Nice Jazz Festival, Jazz à Juan in Juan-les-Pins, and Vence Nuits du Sud.
