Covering 1229 kilometers over 8 punishing days, the 75th edition of the famed Paris-Nice bike race will roll into Nice on the weekend of March 11-12, 2017.
On Saturday, just before noon, the starting gun fires and the 158 riders blast out of Nice, and for the next 4 hours climb to one picturesque perched village after another, finishing deep in the countryside of the Vesubie valley.
But the Sunday final is the place to be, with the dramatic start and finish both in Nice. The Sunday final starts in Nice (starting line tbd), for a grueling course through a veritable who’s who of magnificent Riviera mountain villages: Levens, Chateauneuf, Contes, L’Escarene, Peille, La Turbie, and the mythic La Col d’Eze. The Eze descent will be a wild ride through Villefranche-sur-mer, then the Nice Port… and finally a final dash for the photogenic seaside finish on the Promenade des Anglais. The expected arrival on the Prom is between 4:25 and 4:55pm, but get there early to stake out your vantage point. As soon as Sunday’s map is released I’ll link it here, and then just click on the ‘time schedule’ tab for a list of the timing for all the villages on the course.
