Le High Club has been DJ party-central in Nice for nearly 2 decades… since you were a toddler!! How’s that for street cred? It’s the biggest and most ambitious boite de nuit in Nice with two floors and three theme rooms so you can change your ambience without leaving the club. It’s a Nice institution and is packed every weekend with the young and restless. 45 Promenade des Anglais, open Wednesday to Saturday from midnight until dawn.
OMA Club is the newest on the scene, with a more intimate space offering a Parisienne vibe and a real sense of place, with an eclectic play list, reams of draped red velvet and strings of Japanese lanterns strategically strung between disco balls. 6 rue Halevy just off rue Massena, open Thurs-Sat, midnight to 5am.
Au Son des Guitares is a home-grown dance club chain that features live music. With sister-clubs in already in Cannes, Aix and Marseilles, the walls are full of photos of all their famous clients over the years, of which you are now one. 36 rue de France, open Friday and Saturday, midnight to 5am.
Le Shapko in the heart of Old Nice is a very happening live music jazz/blues/soul/funk/latin nightclub with a small dancefloor but a big following. It opens at 10pm, live music starts around 11pm, and each successive set gets more and more lit. No cover charge (!), open every night, 10pm-5pm, 5 rue Rossetti.
Bulldog Pompeii also in Old Nice is rock-n-roll, old-school and low-key. Their motto is ‘Every night is Saturday Night’ and in fact they are one of only 2 clubs on this list that is cranking it every single night, 11pm to 5pm, with live bands, and a nightly happy hour to get you started from 11pm-12:30am. 16 rue de l’Abbaye in the Old Town.
Les Nuits Blanches (sleepless nights) is located at 20 quai Lunel in the Nice Port, just around the point from the Old Town if you start you night there. The decor is modern minimalist industrial strobe, with DJ trance and house music. Open Thurs-Sat at 11:30pm until 5am.
